I love February! Mostly because it's my birthday month, but also because it's a month thats fun and easy to decorate and do crafts for. I decided to do a countdown for Derrick and I and I also planned out a craft each day for Tori to do during our "preschool time" (We don't really go to preschool, it's just an hour or two that I set apart each day to make sure Tori and I get time to read and do an activity or craft). I've also already put together a gift for Derrick, but I won't post that until after I give it to him, just in case he actually gets time to read this.
For Family Home Evening last night we made valentine boxes out of cereal boxes. Cereal is one of Derrick's favorite things to eat, so we typically have a lot in the house (It counts as food storage, right?) which means we have a lot of boxes ready to be thrown out.
For the countdown until Valentines day I just put together 14 little envelopes with fun things to do in them each day. It's just for Derrick and I so I put them up in our bedroom. They aren't too risk-ay. They are full of simple activities to bring us closer together like "Go out of your way to do something special for each other today.", "Write a love note to each other today", and "Tell each other about your favorite memory from when you were dating."
I got this idea from Love, Actually
This is such a cute idea! I love it! I haven't made Valentine's boxes since I was in elementary school. Looks like I am going to have to bring that one back! And cereal is a staple in mine and Alana's diets too... Delicious.
